We investigate the mysterious death of Amy Robsart, whose death in 1560 scandalised England.  Amy was the wife of Robert Dudley, the supposed lover of Elizabeth I, and she therefore stood in the way of his marriage to the Queen.  When Amy was found dead at the bottom of a set of stairs, many people suspected foul play. The inquest returned a verdict of accidental death. But now new evidence suggests a very different fate.
